weekly challenges

Catching up on a few things . . .

Two "Finish my Tile - Ribbons and Curls" challenges

#204 -
Started with Hibred

Tangles:  Barber pole, Chillon, Bubbles, W2, N'Zeppel, Puf

Watercolour painted tile, black Micron 0.2, white Uni-ball, Prismacolor pencils, HB pencil, blender

#205 - Started with Andromeda

Tangles:  Bunzo, Chillon, Japonica, Zazzy, Tipple

Watercolour painted tile, black Micron 0.2, white Uni-ball, HB pencil, blender

I felt the first tile was a bit 'muddy' so I shaded the second tile less and didn't use Prismacolor pencils.   Happier with the result.

Happy Mail!!
I have been participating in the 'Travelling Tangles' swaps for a while now.
I received these two envelopes recently in my post box!   The February theme was Year of the Dog, can you see the paw print strings?

I also signed up for the Facebook group 'Tangles without borders' February swap.
This is one of the swaps that I have received so far.  Still waiting for my South African swap to arrive!

Aren't they fun?  I can't wait to get started!  Do you participate in swaps?

joey's weekly tangle challenge #205

Welcome to the second week of the
"Ribbon and Curls
Finish my Tile Challenge".

This week I have started with the tangle
across my tile
(with a few Fescu tucked in here and there)
I can't wait to see how you finish it!

Just a reminder that you do not have to do your challenge on a watercolour tile (I am just using these up) any tile is fine.

Have a great week everyone,
~ joey ~

joey's weekly tangle challenge #204

Hi there!
This week we are going to start another
"Finish my Tile series"

I am calling this one
"Ribbons and Curls"
and we will complete six tiles over the next 6 weeks.

I will start the tile and you can finish it with any patterns you like
(including grid patterns, etc)

Last week I watercolour painted some tiles for a swap but I can't send them out because I was a little overzealous with the salt and it has left the paper too rough.  I don't want to risk ruining anyone's pens so I will be using 6 of them for this challenge.

You can use any tiles or sketchbook that you like, colour is not necessary
just draw your interpretation of my tile
and finish it to your liking!

I have started with some random 'ribbons' across this tile and used
the original tangle
Hibred

I am attempting to work my way out of a creative lull and hope that seeing a bit of  colour will get things rolling again.
Have a fun week filled with creativity!

joey's weekly tangle challenge #203

Hello, Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!
(on Wednesday)
This week we are back with the last
"tangled in a string" challenge.

We will use String #150
and the tangle

This string is about as 'hearty' as I can go for Valentine's Day.
I'm not a heart kinda girl I suppose!

black Copic Multiliner SP 0.2, 0.7, black Micron 0.05, HB pencil, blender, in sketchbook
Tangles:  Hollyhock

I thought Hollyhock fit well into the string and looked more
leaf/flowerlike than heartlike.
(is it just me or does this tangle remind you of Margarete's style of tangling?
Do you use this tangle a lot Margarete?)

My finished page . . . maybe . . .
I think it may need a few things around the tiles, words or tangles perhaps?
Suggestions?

Looking forward to seeing your completed tiles!

joey's weekly tangle challenge #202

Good day to you!
Today we are continuing with the
"tangled in a string" challenge.

I thought that
was really interesting
and if we combined it with
we could really come up
with some great tiles!

black Micron pens 0.05, 0.2, 0.7, HB pencil, blender
Tangles:  Girdy, Cruffle

This is my tile, can you believe that I didn't realize until Tuesday that I hadn't included it?
Somedays I swear if my head wasn't attached to my shoulders...!?
Have a great week,
~ joey ~
